Ten Top Tips

To support the launch of "Becoming Dad", we've developed ten top tips for young dads and young dads-to-be in Leicestershire. Thanks so much to Jordan, Mitch and Kai for helping us to develop them!

We'll be giving them out to new dads and dads-to-be across the county.

Sure Start Children's Centres

Did you know? Your local Sure Start Children’s Centre Programme offers parenting advice and support to fathers! This could include one to one parenting support, attending free groups with your child/children to support their development, support to manage behaviour or to simply get to know other local parents and children. If you would like support or want to know more, speak to your health visitor or professional, phone the Family Information Service on 0116 305 6545 or Click Here

You're welcome!

One of the things that we found out while we were working on the "Becoming Dad" project was that young dads and dads-to-be can sometimes feel as if support services are aimed at women.

We're working with partner agencies to make sure all dads feel welcome to access support. Watch out for the "Dads are welcome here!" postcards appearing on noticeboards near you!

Reading to your Baby

Reading to your baby is a great way way for dads to bond with their babies

We've created some Animal Alphabet flash cards for young dads to read with their babies.

These will be distributed to dads-to-be in the county soon.
